The APA's Third Quarter Business Meeting

The American Pharmacy Alliance held their 3rd quarter business meeting at Amelia Island, Florida, January 15th. The meeting focused on the next steps in the implementation and launch of APA's primary pharmacy services.

The first, PromptRx^SM, is an automated refill reminder program that will work hand in hand with the pharmacy and the pharmacy system to improve patients' compliance with prescribed medication. The second is a partnership program through which the APA will work with more than 30 national and regional wholesalers to deliver a suite of services to their mutual pharmacy customers. Presently, the APA has letters of intent to work with AmeriSource, Bindley Western, Cardinal Health and the Wholesale Alliance.

Conclusive stages of development and beta testing are now underway for these services and the APA anticipates enrollment to begin in February.
